About
The Department of Physics was started in the year 1976 offering Ancillary Physics for B.Sc Mathematics students. B.Sc Physics was started in 1977 followed by M.Sc Physics in 1987. In 1995 UGC sponsored vocational subject Computer Maintenance was introduced for B.Sc Physics students.
The Spotlight
Long-standing ties with Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam for research activities.
The Meenakshi Sundararajan Research Center of the College was started with a focus on Research in Radiation Physics and allied fields. The Center has produced 3 Ph.D.s till date.
State-of-the-art facilities for carrying out research in Radiation Physics.
Most of the Faculty members have doctoral degrees.
A Faculty member holds a patent.
