About
The Department of Chemistry was established in June 1976 as a P.U.C. course. B.Sc. Chemistry was offered from 1977. With the growing demand for Chemistry, the sanctioned strength was increased from 50 to 100 in the year 1979.
The Spotlight
There are two streams offered in B.Sc. Chemistry - one with Allied Zoology and the other with Allied Mathematics.
The offering of B.Sc. Chemistry in two streams enables students to pursue higher studies in the relevant areas of Chemistry.
Almost all the Faculty members hold a doctoral degree.
One Faculty member holds a patent.
